Entries from married couples will be disqualified. 5. PRIZE AND WINNER SELECTION:

a. On or about February 3, 2011, all eligible entrants will be reviewed by a panel of judges composed of certain KTLA Staff and/or persons designated by KTLA Staff (“the Judges”). The Judges will select six (6) quarter-finalists on the basis of quality of writing and overall potential entertainment value of the couple.

b. Between February 7, 2011 and February 11, 2011, the 6 semi-finalists and their boyfriends and/or girlfriends will compete in a game on the “KTLA 5 Morning News,” (“the Show”) located at either the KTLA studios or at another location chosen within the KTLA viewing area, which airs from 4:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. PT. Sponsors reserve the right to air these performances on a delayed or tape-delayed basis. Quarter-finalists must be available to appear on the Show on any date between February 7, 2011 and February 11, 2011, or they will be disqualified. Alternate quarter-finalists may be chosen from the pool of entries at the sole discretion of the Sponsor based on the criteria set forth herein. An on-air performance is not guaranteed due to the coverage of breaking news or other unforeseen circumstances or for any reason in Sponsors sole discretion. The quarter-finalists will ensure that their appearances do not violate any applicable laws, regulations, or television broadcast network standards as determined by Sponsors in their sole discretion. Quarter- finalists may be required to sign a statement of content standard compliance and liability release before being allowed to appear on the Show. Failure to sign the statement may result in disqualification.

c. On each day between February 7, 2011 and February 9, 2011, two quarter-finalist couples will compete in a game as follows:

Prior to the game, each couple participating in that day's competition will be asked to predict how many points it will earn in the game. They will write that number down and place it in an envelope marked with their names (the “Prediction Envelope”), and give it to KTLA staff.

Two quarter-finalists, who are not together as a couple, and chosen by KTLA staff, will sit on one side of a partition. The remaining two quarter-finalists will sit on the other side of the partition. Each quarter-finalist will be given a writing implement and something to write on. KTLA staff will then ask all four quarter-finalists appearing on the Show that day to answer three questions. Quarter-finalists will write their answers down and then display them for KTLA staff to see. If two quarter-finalists who are together as a couple have give identical or similar answers (“a Match”), they will be collectively awarded five (5) points. If two quarter-finalists who are together as a couple give different answers, they will not be awarded any points. In the event of a dispute about whether a pair of answers merits the awarding of points, KTLA staff, in its discretion, shall decide whether or not points should be awarded. The decision of KTLA staff shall be final and binding.

A second question will be asked in the same manner described above. A Match for the second question is worth ten (10) points.

A third question will be asked in the same manner described above. A Match for the second question is worth fifteen (15) points.

After three questions have been asked and answered, the semi-finalist couple with the most points shall be declared a finalist.

In the event of a tie, KTLA staff will open both Prediction Envelopes. The couple whose predicted number of points comes closest to the couple’s actual game score, without exceeding the actual game score, shall be declared a semi-finalist. If both predictions exceed the respective couple’s actual game score, the predicted number of points shall be subjected to the mathematical formula X-Y=Z, where “X” is the predicted number of points by a couple and “Y” is the actual number of points earned by that same couple. “Y” shall be subtracted from “X”. The value “Z” is the result of subtracting “Y” from “X”. The couple whose “Z” value is the lowest shall be declared a semi-finalist. If a tie persists in the game after these practices, KTLA staff will ask a representative of one quarter-finalist couple to declare “heads” or “tails”. KTLA staff will then toss a coin in the air, catch it, and place it on a surface. If the side of the coin that is visible matches the side declared by the quarter-finalist who was asked, that quarter-finalist’s couple will be declared a semi- finalist. If the side of the coin that is visible does not match the side declared by the quarter-finalist who was asked, that quarter-finalists couple will be eliminated from the competition and the other couple will be declared a semi- finalist.

On February 10, 2011, the three semi-finalist couples shall appear on the Show and participate in the game again. The game will be conducted in the exact same manner described above, with the addition of one couple. The semi-finalist couples with the two highest number of points shall be declared finalists. Ties shall be handled in the same manner described above.

On February 11, 2011, the two finalist couples shall appear on the Show and participate in the game again. The game will be conducted in the exact same manner described above, with two couples participating. The finalist couple with the highest number of points shall be declared the winner. The finalist couple with the second-highest number of points shall be declared the runner-up. Ties shall be handled in the same manner described above.

Sponsors retain the right to reschedule appearances by the couples due to breaking news or other unforeseen circumstances. Sponsors reserve the right to disqualify those contestants that may subject Sponsors to a claim or litigation.
