SWEEPSTAKES OFFICIAL RULES

NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.

The TRAVEL SHOW GIVEAWAY Sweepstakes ("Sweepstakes") starts at 4:00 AM (PST) on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 and ends at 12:01 PM (PST) on Friday, January 27, 2012 ("Sweepstakes Period"). This Sweepstakes shall be subject to these Official Rules, and by entering, all entrants agree to abide and be bound by these rules and the decisions of the judges and Sponsors.

1) Eligibility: This Sweepstakes is open to legal U.S. residents residing in the following counties: Los Angeles, Orange (CA), San Diego, Ventura, Santa Barbara, Riverside and San Bernardino who are eighteen (18) years and older as of the first day of the Sweepstakes Period. Employees (and their immediate household or family members) of the Los Angeles Times or KTLA, (“Sponsors”) and of their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising agencies, prize providers, promotion and delivery contractors and/or public relations companies, are not eligible to participate. A potential winner may be requested to provide proof that all eligibility requirements are met as well as proof of ownership of the e-mail address associated with the winning entry Void where prohibited and outside California. This Sweepstakes shall be governed and enforced pursuant to California law, excluding choice of law provisions.

2) How to Enter: During the Sweepstakes Period, go to KTLA.com/travelshow to complete the entry form. All entries must include your name, age, address, email address, and phone number. You must provide all information requested on the entry form, and your contact information must be accurate. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of an entrant, the holder of the e-mail account will be deemed the person who submitted the entry. Incomplete entries will be disqualified and Sponsors are not responsible for entries that are lost, late, deleted, garbled, corrupted, misdelivered, or misdirected as a result of technical, internet or other online difficulties or errors. All entries must be received by 12:01 pm (PST) on Friday, January 27, 2012). The computer clock of Sponsors’ webmaster is the official timekeeping device of the Sweepstakes. Limit one entry per person or household or email address; duplicate entries from the same person or household or email address will be disqualified. All received entries become the property of Sponsors and will not be returned.

3) Winners and Notification: 21 winners will be selected in a random drawing held as follows: on January 27, 2012 at or about 12:10 pm (PST) the Fiji Trip winner and on January 27, 2012 at or about 12:11 pm (PST) 20 pairs of tickets to the Travel Show winners. Drawings on January 27, 2012 will be from all eligible entries received as of 12:01 pm (PST). Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received prior to each drawing. Limit one prize per person. Representatives of KTLA will conduct the drawings. The judges will make all final decisions in any and all issues related to this Sweepstakes and their decisions shall be final and binding in all respects. Sponsors will attempt to notify potential winners by telephone and/or email using the information provided in the entry form by end of business on January 27, 2012. A winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner may be selected by random drawing from among all remaining entries if (1) a winner cannot be contacted/does not respond within 24 hours of Sponsors’ first notification attempt; (2) a winner does not fulfill the eligibility requirements; (3) a winner does not adhere to the Official Rules; and/or (4) if the prize notification is returned as undeliverable, refused, or declined.

4) Prizes and Delivery: One Fiji Trip: A eight-day, seven-night trip for two to Fiji, including round-trip airfare from Los Angeles International to Fiji and double accommodations at Tavarua Island Resort. Fiji Trip also includes 3 meals per day at the Resort and airline and hotel taxes (Total Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) = $7,730.00). 20 pairs of tickets to the 2012 Los Angeles Times Travel Show (Total ARV = $400.00). Total ARV of all prizes = $8,130.00. Prizes subject to restrictions. See individual ticket packages for additional restrictions.

Certain blackout dates may apply. All travel must be completed by December 31, 2012. The actual value of a prize may vary depending on times of travel, airfare fluctuations and hotel charges at the time of travel. Therefore, the actual value of the prize awarded may be lower or higher at the time it is fulfilled. Any difference between actual value and stated ARV will not be awarded. Travel is subject to the restrictions and conditions set forth herein. Any costs associated with prize receipt and/or use that are not expressly stated herein are not included in the prize and are the responsibility solely of the prize winner. All prize-related travel arrangements will be administered by Sponsors’ authorized designee. Prize winner will be required to provide a valid passport or government issued identification at time of travel. No changes will be made to travel details once any element(s) of the travel arrangements have been booked, except at Sponsors’ sole discretion. All airline tickets issued in conjunction with prize are not eligible for upgrades, frequent flyer miles or any other promotional benefit. Sponsors will not replace any lost or stolen tickets, travel vouchers or certificates or similar items once they are in the prize winner’s possession. Prize travel is subject to capacity controls, availability, and certain other restrictions. Travel must be roundtrip. Sponsors will determine airline in their sole discretion. Any unclaimed and/or unused prize travel package or element thereof will be forfeited by prize winner and will remain the property of Sponsors. No refund or compensation will be made in the event of the cancellation or delay of any flight. Travel is subject to the terms and conditions set forth in these Official Rules and those set forth by Sponsors’ air travel prize supplier, as detailed in the passenger ticket contract issued by such supplier.

All winners are solely responsible for any applicable federal, state and local taxes in connection with the prize in the year in which the prize is awarded. Sponsors are not responsible if the Travel Show is canceled, postponed, or delayed. Prize substitutions are not allowed, and prizes are not transferable. Only Sponsors may elect, at their discretion, to substitute a prize of equal value due to lack of availability for any given reason. Prizes are awarded "as is" with no warranty or guarantee, either expressed or implied by Sponsors, including but not limited to, the quality, merchantability, habitability, mechanical condition, or fitness of the prize items. Properly claimed prizes will be awarded, but in no event will Sponsor award more prizes than are provided for in these Official Rules. Winners will be mailed their prizes following confirmation of address, eligibility and identity.

5) Other Conditions: Winners of Fiji Trip will be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Release which must be returned within 10 days of the date Sponsors send same to winner. Failure to return such document will result in that winner/runner-up being disqualified and another winner/runner-up may be randomly drawn from all remaining eligible entries. Guests of winners for Fiji Trip (or parent or legal guardian in the event guest is a minor) must also sign and return Release prior to accompanying winners on trips.

By entering this Sweepstakes, each entrant agrees to release, waive and hold harmless Sponsors and each of their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, parent corporations and advertising and promotional agencies, and all of their officers, directors, shareholders, employees and agents from any and all injuries, claims, damages, losses, costs, or expenses of any kind (including without limitation attorney’s fees) resulting from accessing the Sweepstakes webpage; submitting an entry or otherwise participating in any aspect of the Sweepstakes; the receipt, ownership or use of any prize awarded; preparing for, participating in or traveling to and/or from any prize-related activity, or; any printing, typographical or other error in these Official Rules or the announcement of offering of any prize.

By accepting a prize, each Winner agrees to allow Sponsors and their agents and licensees to use their names, voices, photographs, likenesses and any information provided on the entry form, in any medium of communication, including advertising, promotional or other purposes, without additional compensation.

6) Internet/Fraud/Tampering: If for any reason this Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned, or if this Sweepstakes or any web site associated therewith (or any portion thereof) becomes corrupted or does not allow the proper playing of the Sweepstakes and processing of entries in accordance with these rules, or if infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, actions by entrants, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes, in the Sponsors’ sole opinion, corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes, the Sponsors reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to disqualify any individual implicated in such action and/or to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend this Sweepstakes or any portion thereof. In the event this Sweepstakes is cancelled, the Sponsors will conduct a random drawing to award remaining prizes from among all eligible, non-suspect entries received prior to the time of the action or event warranting such cancellation. If such cancellation, termination, modification, or suspension occurs, notification will be posted at the Entry Site. ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE (INCLUDING THE ENTRY SITE) OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION. Sponsors assume no liability for (a) any incorrect or inaccurate entry information, or for any faulty, failed, garbled or jumbled electronic data transmissions; (b) any unauthorized access to, or theft, destruction or alteration of entries at any point in the operation of this Sweepstakes; (c) any technical malfunction, failure, error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or communications line failure, regardless of cause, with regard to any equipment, systems, networks, lines, satellites, servers, computers or providers utilized in any aspect of the operation of the Sweepstakes; (d) inaccessibility or unavailability of the Internet or the Web Site or any combination thereof, or; (e) any injury or damage to entrant’s or to any other person's computer which may be related to or resulting from any attempt to participate in the Sweepstakes or download any materials in the Sweepstakes. Any entry information collected from the Sweepstakes shall be used only in a manner consistent with the consent given by entrants at the time of the entry and in accordance with these Official Rules and the Sponsors’ respective privacy policies, which can be found at the bottom of each Sponsor’s homepage. In the event of any conflict between these Official Rules and such Privacy Policy, the terms and conditions of these Official Rules shall prevail.
