"THE TASTE 2011 GIVEAWAY"
SWEEPSTAKES OFFICIAL RULES?
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.
THE TASTE GIVEAWAY Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”) starts at 4:00 AM (PST) on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 and ends at 12:01 PM (PST) on Friday, August 26, 2011 (“Sweepstakes Period”). This Sweepstakes shall be subject to these Official Rules, and by entering, all entrants agree to abide and be bound by these rules and the decisions of the Sponsors.
1) Eligibility: This Sweepstakes is open to legal U.S. residents residing in the following counties: Los Angeles, Orange (CA), San Diego, Ventura, Santa Barbara, Riverside and San Bernardino who are twenty-one (21) years and older as of the first day of the Sweepstakes Period. Employees (and their immediate household or family members) of the Los Angeles Times or KTLA, (“Sponsors”) or of Unicomm and of their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising agencies, prize providers, promotion and delivery contractors and/or public relations companies, are not eligible to participate. A potential winner may be requested to provide proof that all eligibility requirements are met as well as proof of ownership of the e-mail address associated with the winning entry Void where prohibited and outside California. This Sweepstakes shall be governed and enforced pursuant to California law, excluding choice of law provisions.
2) How to Enter: During the Sweepstakes Period, go to KTLA.com/taste to complete the entry form. All entries must include your name, age, address, email address, and phone number. You must provide all information requested on the entry form, and your contact information must be accurate. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of an entrant, the holder of the e-mail account will be deemed the person who submitted the entry. Incomplete entries will be disqualified and Sponsors are not responsible for entries that are lost, late, deleted, garbled, corrupted, misdelivered, or misdirected as a result of technical, internet or other online difficulties or errors. All entries must be received by 12:01 pm (PST) on Friday, August 26, 2011. The computer clock of Sponsors’ webmaster is the official timekeeping device of the Sweepstakes. Limit one entry per person or household or email address; duplicate entries from the same person or household or email address will be disqualified. All received entries become the property of Sponsors and will not be returned.
3) Winners and Notification: 15 winners will be selected in a random drawing held on August 26, 2011 at or about 12:10 pm (PST). Each winner will receive two (2) of tickets to The Taste Hollywood Event: Taco Tequila Tryst, located at The Studios at Paramount in Hollywood, CA and held on September 3, 2011 from 7pm-10pm (PST). For additional information visit www.latimes.com/thetaste. . Drawings on August 26, 2011 will be from all eligible entries received as of 12:01 pm (PST). Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received prior to each drawing. Limit one prize per person. Representatives of KTLA will conduct the drawings. The judges will make all final decisions in any and all issues related to this Sweepstakes and their decisions shall be final and binding in all respects. Sponsors will attempt to notify potential winners by telephone and/or email using the information provided in the entry form by end of business on August 26, 2011. A winner will be disqualified and an alternate winner may be selected by random drawing from among all remaining entries if (1) a winner cannot be contacted/does not respond within 24 hours of Sponsors’ first notification attempt; (2) a winner does not fulfill the eligibility requirements; (3) a winner does not adhere to the Official Rules; and/or (4) if the prize notification is returned as undeliverable, refused, or declined. 4)Prizes and Delivery: Fifteen pairs of tickets to The Taste’s Hollywood Event: Taco Tequila Tryst. (Total Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) = $250.00 per prize). Prizes subject to restrictions. See individual ticket packages for additional restrictions at www.latimes.com/thetaste. Any unclaimed and/or unused prizes or element thereof will be forfeited by prize winner and will remain the property of Sponsors.
No refund or compensation will be made. All winners are solely responsible for any applicable federal, state and local taxes in connection with the prize in the year in which the prize is awarded as well as any incidentals spent at the Taste event. Sponsors are not responsible if The Taste is canceled, postponed, or delayed. Prize substitutions are not allowed, and prizes are not transferable. Only Sponsors may elect, at their discretion, to substitute a prize of equal value due to lack of availability for any given reason. Prizes are awarded "as is" with no warranty or guarantee, either expressed or implied by Sponsors, including but not limited to, the quality, merchantability, habitability, mechanical condition, or fitness of the prize items. Properly claimed prizes will be awarded, but in no event will Sponsor award more prizes than are provided for in these Official Rules. Winners will be mailed their prizes following confirmation of address, eligibility and identity.
5) Other Conditions: By entering this Sweepstakes, each entrant agrees to release, waive and hold harmless Sponsors and each of their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, parent corporations and advertising and promotional agencies, and all of their officers, directors, shareholders, employees and agents from any and all injuries, claims, damages, losses, costs, or expenses of any kind (including without limitation attorney’s fees) resulting from accessing the Sweepstakes webpage; submitting an entry or otherwise participating in any aspect of the Sweepstakes; the receipt, ownership or use of any prize awarded; preparing for, participating in or traveling to and/or from any prize-related activity, or; any printing, typographical or other error in these Official Rules or the announcement of offering of any prize.
Sponsors are not responsible for changes made to the Prizes being awarded, including any delay, cancellation or postponement of the Prize events, and is under no obligation to provide a substitute prize. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing or advertising of the offer, administration or execution of the Sweepstakes or in the announcements of the prizes/prize winners.
Neither the failure of Sponsors to insist upon or enforce strict performance of any provision of these Official Rules nor the failure, delay or omission by Sponsors in exercising any right with respect to any term of these Official Rules, will be construed as a waiver or relinquishment to any extent of Sponsors’ right to assert or rely upon any such provision or right in that or any other instance.
By accepting a prize, each Winner agrees to allow Sponsors and their agents and licensees to use their names, voices, photographs, likenesses and any information provided on the entry form, in any medium of communication, including advertising, promotional or other purposes, without additional compensation.
6) Internet/Fraud/Tampering: If for any reason this Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned, or if this Sweepstakes or any web site associated therewith (or any portion thereof) becomes corrupted or does not allow the proper playing of the Sweepstakes and processing of entries in accordance with these rules, or if infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, actions by entrants, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes, in the Sponsors’ sole opinion, corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes, the Sponsors reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to disqualify any individual implicated in such action and/or to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend this Sweepstakes or any portion thereof. In the event this Sweepstakes is cancelled, the Sponsors will conduct a random drawing to award remaining prizes from among all eligible, non-suspect entries received prior to the time of the action or event warranting such cancellation. If such cancellation, termination, modification, or suspension occurs, notification will be posted at the Entry Site. ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE (INCLUDING THE ENTRY SITE) OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION. Sponsors assume no liability for (a) any incorrect or inaccurate entry information, or for any faulty, failed, garbled or jumbled electronic data transmissions; (b) any unauthorized access to, or theft, destruction or alteration of entries at any point in the operation of this Sweepstakes; (c) any technical malfunction, failure, error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or communications line failure, regardless of cause, with regard to any equipment, systems, networks, lines, satellites, servers, computers or providers utilized in any aspect of the operation of the Sweepstakes; (d) inaccessibility or unavailability of the Internet or the Web Site or any combination thereof, or; (e) any injury or damage to entrant’s or to any other person's computer which may be related to or resulting from any attempt to participate in the Sweepstakes or download any materials in the Sweepstakes. Any entry information collected from the Sweepstakes shall be used only in a manner consistent with the consent given by entrants at the time of the entry and in accordance with these Official Rules and the Sponsors’ respective privacy policies, which can be found at the bottom of each Sponsor’s homepage. In the event of any conflict between these Official Rules and such Privacy Policy, the terms and conditions of these Official Rules shall prevail.
7) Winners List or Official Rules: For an Official Winners List (available after August 27, 2011), or a copy of these Official Rules, send a request and a self-addressed, stamped envelope to THE TASTE GIVEAWAY Sweepstakes, Winners List/Official Rules, Los Angeles Times, 202 W. First Street, 5th Floor, Los Angeles, CA 90012. Official Rules are also available at KTLA.com/contests. All requests for Official Rules or Winners List must be received by Sept 28, 2011.
